1. Identify the source
Every public opportunity is treated as either hosted on Becoming or external. External listings identify the original organization or public source when that information is available.
Transparency
Becoming publishes opportunities from verified organization accounts and selected public external sources. The goal is to make the source and status clear without claiming that any third-party organization sponsors, endorses, or partners with Becoming.
Every public opportunity is treated as either hosted on Becoming or external. External listings identify the original organization or public source when that information is available.
The title, opportunity type, organization, location, application dates, and public description are checked against the available source. Incomplete or uncertain external opportunities are held for review instead of being presented as open.
External opportunities are rechecked. Listings can be marked open, closing soon, closed, expired, or waiting for verification. A last-checked date is shown when it is available.
Hosted opportunities use Becoming's application flow. External opportunities direct eligible signed-in users to the original provider so the application is completed with the organization that owns the opportunity.
Verification is a status check, not a guarantee of selection, compensation, safety, or eligibility. Opportunity details can change after they are checked. Read the original terms, protect personal information, and confirm any volunteer-hour activity with your school before you begin.
Send the listing URL and the correction through Contact Support. Becoming can review the source, update the status, or remove an opportunity that is no longer available.
