Becoming is a community and opportunity platform that connects students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizations. For students, that means one place to discover volunteer hours, co-op placements, internships, and first work experience across Ontario.
Opportunity information should be clear
Public listings show the organization, location, opportunity type, important dates, source, and verification status whenever that information is available.
Students need age-aware safeguards
Job seekers under 18 require parent or guardian consent before using the member dashboard. Students should also confirm volunteer-hour eligibility with their school before starting an activity.
Access should be practical
Browsing public opportunities is free, and individual accounts are free to create. Becoming links people to both opportunities hosted on the platform and external public opportunities.
How Becoming works
Organizations can publish opportunities directly after account verification. Becoming also discovers selected public opportunities from external organizations and links people back to the original source. Availability can change, so external opportunities are rechecked and their source status is displayed on the listing page.
